I decided to make a blog for the summer so I can document my projects and express love for things I consume. As well as document and process thoughts and ideas, without getting muddled up on my uni blog. I honestly have no idea if i will use this or abandon it, but we'll seeeeeeeeeeeeeee :^)

I couldn't stop thinking about a painting technique, about the use of over-painting and seeing underneath,  that I remembered reading in a Basquiat book I have, however I couldn't remember what it was called. Rather than searching through the pages of the book, i decided to first go to google and ended up finding a lot of other techniques. Ben Vautier, Fluxus, Mail art

decided to look for the author of this quote and found it was Ben Vautier He was born on the 18th July 1935, known as Ben. He discovered Yves Klein and the Nouveau Realisme in the 50s Joined the Fluxus art movemement. Active in mail art started text based paintings known as ' é critures' In 1981 he came up with the term 'Figuration Libre' for the French art movement during the 80s. Yves Klein - nouveau realisme, performance art, pop art, minimal art. Nouveau Realisme - saw the world as something they could take parts from and incorporate them into works Fluxus was an international, interdisciplinary community of artists, composers, & poets during the 1960s and 70s who engaged in experimental art performances which emphasised the artistic process over the finished product.
